Giving encouragement to the young students, freshly enrolled, SM Entertainment rep, Lee Soo Man, returned to Seoul National University to welcome the incoming class of 2013.
On March 4, Lee Soo Man stood at the podium as an alumnus from the class of 1971. He gave the students four keywords to remember – pride, challenge, personal responsibility, and social responsibility
“When you focus on something you’re interested in, passion begins to grow. Passion gives birth to effort, which leads to genius. I believe that genius isn’t innate, but something that can be learned through effort,” said Lee Soo Man. “To a person with passion, an opportunity of success will arrive, and the most successful and meaningful life is when a person enjoys what they’ve chosen because they liked it.”
During the speech, Lee Soo Man quoted Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany.
“A while back, SNSD’s Tiffany said in a thank you speech, ‘It’s already a happy thing to find a job that a person loves, but I am even happier because I’ve received an award while doing that happy thing,’” said Lee Soo Man. ‘”Like this, a successful and meaningful life is to truly enjoy something based on the knowledge and wisdom that a person has worked on.”
He asked the freshmen to continue dreaming and striving for that dream, in order to create a better future for tomorrow.
